Gaps in axial piston pumps must be continuously monitored to prevent the sudden loss of pressure and pump failures. To date, this gap measurement has not been possible due to the severity of the operating condition. The eddyNCDT3300 is a compact eddy current measurement system from MicroEpsilon that is capable of operating at extreme pressure and temperature and therefore, is suitable to be used for measurement in this application.
