The Victorian Opposition says the Government must take steps to reduce costs and red tape for regional businesses.
Nationals’ leader Peter Ryan said the recommendations made by Steve Bracks, the former premier, in his recent report to the Federal Government must be looked at.
“There are things the Government can do and it should do them and I think people throughout Victoria, particularly in the country centres, want the Government to act just as it said it would.”
The Victorian Government says it is doing what it can for regional businesses and announced on Friday that it is doing everything it can to help troubled car manufacturer Teson Trims, which went into voluntary administration earlier last week, with over 130 jobs on the line.
