From April 1st this year, no new forklifts will carry the Nissan Forklift name. The machines will continue to roll off the production line but the brand will evolve into UniCarriers.
Apart from that it will be business as usual. UniCarriers forklifts will continue to deliver the same quality, reliability and value as their Nissan Forklift predecessors. And Lencrow Materials Handling will remain as UniCarriers’ official Australian distributor.
The change will not affect the availability of parts for existing Nissan Forklift machines. Lencrow will continue to provide spare parts and servicing as well as customer information. This includes early models Nissan forklifts.
Founded in Japan, Nissan Forklifts and TCM Corporation each boast over 50 years of forklift manufacturing history. The two companies came together in 2013 to form UniCarriers. Previously, in 2007, Nissan had acquired Swedish-based forklift maker Atlet (which also has over half a century of experience behind it).
UniCarriers brings together the strengths and experience of all three brands.
The Nissan legacy, for example, brings to the table a comprehensive range of internal combustion forklifts with capacities ranging from 1000kg to 43,000kg; and premium models with electronic engine management system technology that manages things like fuel economy.
While the Atlet name, on the other hand, has become synonymous with quality electric powered warehouse products and ergonomic solutions.
The merger will build on such strengths and create a company that sees forklifts not as peripheral concern, but its sole business. As such, UniCarriers will be better placed to take a market leading position.
The company’s product offerings include petrol, LPG, dual fuel, diesel and electric forklifts from 1000kg; both three and four wheel counterbalance electric forklifts; and stand up reach trucks.
In addition, they offer sit down reach trucks (to 9 metre lift height) and both low level and high rise order pickers.
They also offer power pallet jacks and big trucks in the 8000kg + range; and stock a full range of genuine spare parts.
UniCarriers will be releasing brand new products in Australia later this year. These are new never-seen-before models with extra features to enhance productivity and efficiency for operation workflows. It will also increase its focus on reducing carbon emissions and offering more environmentally friendly products.Lencrow will keep customers updated on all these releases through LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and their website. In addition, customers are encouraged to sign-up to the company’s news feed and take advantage of their online Live Chat service.
