Two workers were killed by an explosion at a Chilean Orica factory over the weekend.
AAP reports that the factory at Antofagasta was undergoing maintenance at roughly 3:30 pm local time.
“Any incident that results in fatalities or injuries is devastating, and our concern now is to support the families and colleagues of our two workers,” the company said in a statement.
The Australian Financial Review notes that there was a fatal accident at the factory for years ago, though the company’s sustainability report shows no deaths in the 2014 and 2015 financial years.
