Sydney factory fire contained

A blaze at a Sydney factory fire has been extinguished.

The fire started late yesterday and lit up the feeds of twitter, as crowds gathered to watch the blaze.

According to Fire and Rescue superintendent Tom Cooper, two Hardwood Designs factories on Brompton St caught alight, The Bombala Times reported.

While no cause has yet been identified for the blaze, it is believed to have been the result of an electrical fault, according to the factory's owner.

"They were spraying lacquer on the furniture, they heard a crackling noise and the next thing you know the fire was burning away," the spokesperson said.

Explosions were reportedly heard at the rear of the building.

While no one on site was injured, two people were taken to hospital after they inhaled fumes from the burning lacquer
