Sugar mill reopens after worker dies

A sugar mill in Queensland reopened today after a worker was killed on site at the weekend.

A 46-year-old worker died at Proserpine Sugar Mill on Sunday after he was crushed between two cane bins.

A spokeswoman for Sucrogen, the owner of the mill, said the man had worked there for over four years.

Operations at the mill resumed today, with the spokeswomen saying initial  investigations had been completed and that the mill was shut down as a mark of respect.
