Seized bearings cause conveyor fire at Brighton Cement

Twenty-five firefighters quickly contained a conveyor belt fire at the Birkenhead Brighton Cement factory at the weekend.

The Adelaide Advertiser reports that there were no injuries, but an estimated $50,000 in damage to the 12-metre high conveyor resulted from the blaze.

According to the Metropolitan Fire Service, the fire was started by seized rollers and bearings.
