PSYCHOLOGIST Carl Reams has written and developed a nationally recognised competency based course in Advanced Safety and Quality Awareness (AS&QA).
Safety experts say that more than 90% of accidents and injuries result from human error! Confirmation of their views is evidenced by many Accident Risk Management (ARM) survey results that show that on average 33% of workers with a lower safety awareness are responsible for more than 90% of lost time injuries contributed to by human error.
According to Reams, an under-current of change developing within OH&S is set to revolutionise the way organisations implement safety awareness programs.
A new training philosophy combines environmental safety awareness with psychological safety awareness. Perceptions, judgments and attitudes about safety are targeted to the individual in this training program.
Reams says empowering people with rational thinking about their environment and circumstances enables them to make better safety related choices.
“Psychological safety awareness coaching will result in sustainable changes in behaviour, substantially reducing accidents and injuries by up to 75%,” he said. For more information call PaQS on 02 4949 4500.
