Rod end bearing with integrated nut

GERMAN company igus has extended its ‘igubal’ range of polymer self-aligning bearings to include a new rod end bearing with an integrated nut.

Available in Australia through Treotham Automation, this second-generation rod-end bearing is designed to be easy to assemble, with a hexagonal housing allowing customers to use a spanner along the complete shaft length.

Customers are able to choose the ball material best suited to their particular application which is made possible due to a new production method that has removed previous material restrictions, and thus made new variations on the pre-existing range possible.

Some examples of these new freedoms are: the iglidur X ball for high pressure resistance under permanently high temperatures; iglidur J, offering a low friction value; iglidur UW which is ideal for underwater applications; and iglidur R, an economic cost-saving version.

The igubal rod end bearing (part number KBRM-10-CL) is available immediately with a shaft diameter of 10mm, and diameters of 6mm, 8mm and 12 mm will be available soon.
