RCR Tomlinson wins $260m VIC, QLD solar projects

Diversified NSW engineering and infrastructure company RCR Tomlinson has been selected to carry out two major solar projects worth $260 million.

RCR will carry out construction and maintenance works at the Clermont solar farm in northern Queensland and the Wemen solar farm in Victoria, which are being developed by international renewables company Wirsol Energy.

Contracts for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M) are still under negotiation and are subject to financial close, which is expected to be completed around November 24.

“Wirsol are a leading project developer of sustainable energy products in the UK, Netherlands, Spain, France and Germany, and the largest developer of solar projects in Australia.

“We continue to see significant opportunities in the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector.”

RCR is now supporting Wirsol in the development of more than 200MWac of renewable energy solar projects.
