Z CORP has introduced a portable 3D laser scanner, the ZScanner 600 which extends Z Corp’s line of handheld, self-positioning scanners.
According to Z Corp, the 3D laser scanners are easier to use than traditional 3D scanners due to their portability. The 3D scanners are designed to streamline data capture for reverse engineering, product design and cultural preservation as well as other applications.
Z Corp says their 3D laser scanner features a resolution down to 0.1mm and XY accuracy up to 80 microns. The 3D laser scanners capture data in one continuous scan rather than in numerous shots from fixed positions.
The Z Corp software, included with the laser scanner automatically produces a .stl file for import into a 3D CAD software package or output to a 3D printer.
