Photoionisation detector

RAE Systems Inc has introduced the UltraRAE 3000, the next generation photoionization detector (PID) for compound-specific gas monitoring.

The detector is wirelessly enabled, making it compatible with the industry-standard AreaRAE network for remote data measurement and collection.

It uses the same high-performance detection technology as the ppbRAE 3000, with the ability to measure toxic compounds below 50 parts per billion (ppb).

It is intended for use in many industrial environments including confined space entry, pre-screening during refineryand plant maintenance, hazardous material response, marine spill response, and refinery down-streammonitoring.

The detector can also measure total VOCs in two wide ranges: 0 to 1000ppm with a resolution of 0.05ppm or 1000 to 10,000ppm with a resolution of 1ppm.

The monitor also has integrated correction factors for more than 200 compounds.

It can be used to measure either benzene or butadiene with the appropriate RAESep compound-specific filtering tube.
