The Oliver ST 44 series offers a wide choice of stylish safety footwear for industry applications, including building and construction, manufacturing, transport and logistics, supervision and security work sites.

The choices in the range are two lace-up sports shoes and one lace up ankle height sports boot.

Each choice employs the TPU (Thermo Plastic Urethane) soling technology with a lightweight, shock absorbing, low density polyurethane midsole which cushions the foot on impact reducing foot, leg and lower back fatigue.

Each style also offers the Oliver Comfortcushion – a combination of cellular urethane and Poron to give added protection to the heel and ball of the foot.

Safety eyewear

PIRANHA Eyewear has released the Cruize safety eyewear for industrial applications.

Compliant with AS/NZS 1337-1992, the glasses are said to be highly multifunctional due to their ability to be transformed to suit different users in different environments.

The company can provide RX gaskets with required scripts ready to go, and come with a safety compliance certification.

All parts are included except the RX prescription gasket which must be ordered separately.

The RX gasket is beneficial because the prescription lens is always protected by the sunglass lens and will not get damaged.

Welding shields with design

THE new Speedglas 100 welding shield is said to deliver outstanding protection, comfort and performance with distinctive graphic designs.

According to the company, the welding shield can be used with most arc welding processes, such as stick (MMA), MIG/MAG and many TIG applications.

The easy-to-use shield is said to be an ideal “first” auto-darkening shield for maintenance or construction workers and occasional welders who weld infrequently.

Inductive sensors

SICK has released a range of inductive sensors designed to meet the requirements of the food and beverage industry.

The stainless steel sensors provide IP69K protection and high temperature resistance.

The integrated electronic switch is said to offer an improved manufacturing tolerance.

Each sensor is 100% identical to the next. In practice, this means a 10% higher assured switching distance.

This is said to provide a significantly greater useful switching distance compared to conventional proximity switches.

As well as simplifying the mechanical design of the machines and the configuration of the sensors, this also makes it possible – if ever needed – to rapidly replace a device with its 1:1 equivalent.

Aluminium piping system

PNEUMATICS Direct has released Infinity piping, described as a high performance aluminium piping system that is easy to install and simple to extend or modify.

The non-corrosive extruded aluminium pipe provides structural strength and delivers contaminate-free air in a leak free piping system.

The smooth bore of the piping prevents high pressure losses and allows for higher flow rates and performance than that of plastic systems. Sizes range from 20mm up to 63mm and include a full range of fittings and accessories to suit. flow rates are from 65 to 1095cfm.

Compressed air analysis

COMPAIR has introduced a new service for Australian business and industry – Airnergy Analysis – an integrated and comprehensive demand side audit of a business’ compressed air usage.

According to the company, the audit can provide cost savings on compressed air of up to 30% by providing a full measurement of energy use, actual airflow rates and pressures.

The Analysis also includes the development of a leak management plan, advice on leak correction, maintenance upgrades and provision of a detailed system report.

From the Analysis data, an expert University body compiles an independent report and provides recommendations.

The typical payback period from implementing the report recommendations is said to be one to two years.

Cabinet cooler system

EXAIR’s new digital ETC (electronic temperature control) cabinet cooler system has been designed to keep electrical enclosures cool while minimising compressed air use.

The ETC incorporates solid state circuitry that detects the slightest change in temperature.

A digital readout LED displays the temperature of the electrical enclosure in °C or °F, then displays the user setting when the ‘push to set’ button is pressed.

When the setting is exceeded, the cabinet cooler circulates -7°C (20°F) air through the electrical enclosure to prevent a high temperature malfunction.

ETC models for 120V ac or 240V ac are available.

In addition, free online visualisation enables remote monitoring, allowing for anticipation of operating and maintenance needs.

The Elektronikon Graphic measures several compressor and dryer parameters while several built-in algorithms allow saver cycles for both fan and dryer.

An optionally-integrated Energy Saving Control System ES6i is capable of regulating and sequencing up to six variable or fixed speed compressors; while optimising the customer’s installation by reducing the overall working pressure band of each compressor to meet the varying air demand.

Energy optimisation system

BOGE Compressors has introduced the airtelligence PROVIS energy optimisation system for lowering operating costs, and reducing maintenance costs.

The airtelligence PROVIS energy management system is a consumption based multi-compressor energy management system able to control, manage and optimise up to 16 compressors of any make or model.

By monitoring all the compressors within a compressed air system and continuously adapting to changes in compressed air demand, airtelligence PROVIS, systematically and predictively takes control of a system, minimising off load running while optimising pressure.

Thanks to the online visualisation programme the compressed air user can now continually manage and monitor the compressed air system at any time and in any place.
