Hawk to distribute Sultan 34 Dual acoustic wave transmitter

The Sultan 34 Dual, from Hawk Measurement Systems, is a non-contact acoustic wave transmitter designed to measure the level of liquids, slurries and solids in process applications.

The Sultan 34 Dual allows users to measure two different applications at once, due to its high-powered acoustic wave pulse transmitter.

According to Hawk, the transmitter emits pulses from two transducers which are reflected from the surface of the material(s) being measured. The reflected signals are processed using specially-developed software to enhance the correct signal and reject false or spurious echoes.

Hawk says the transmission of high-powered acoustic waves reportedly ensures minimal losses through the environment where the sensors are located.

Due to the high-powered emitted pulse, any losses are said to have far less effect than would be experienced by traditional ultrasonic devices, thereby allowing more energy to be transmitted and more energy to be returned.

The Sultan can be used in cement, plastics, chemicals and paper manufacturing.
