Gear unit analysis sensor

SEW-Eurodrive has introduced the DUV10A vibration analysis sensor to assist in the prevention of unplanned gear-unit downtime.

The sensor is designed to pick up the early detection of gear unit-wear and damage, enabling site engineers to accurately predict and plan gear-unit maintenance.

According to the company, the sensor allows the early detection of roller bearing and gearing damage, as well as gear-unit unbalance and resonance detection.

It has been specially designed to detect 20 individual frequencies across the entire vibration spectrum, as well as monitoring shock loads.

The sensor is said to be one of the most accurate on the market. The unit’s micro electromechanical sensor (MEMS) continuously measures the vibration acceleration surfaces at a rate of 32,000 values per second.
