STANLEY Assembly Technologies has introduced the QA Alpha controller for dc electric fastening.
The controller has a bright and bold user interface with newly enhanced process capabilities and easy-to-use embedded toolbox software. It is also compatible with the full range of Stanley QPM dc electric tools, from 0.6 to 2000Nm and higher.
Enhanced process capabilities include linking of multiple parameter sets (“tasks”) in a sequence (“job”) for tightening different fasteners in a workstation.
Assignable inputs/outputs eliminate the need for a PLC in many applications. I/O controller options include 24V, fieldbus, and Modbus TCP.
Users may program all of these capabilities via either the controller keypad/display or the Embedded Toolbox software by connecting with any web browser with JavaScript enabled and Adobe Flash Player installed.
The QA Alpha includes the following standard communication features:
* Ethernet – for message-based protocols and fieldbus I/O mapping.
* USB port – for use with the optional Stanley USB memory stick to import/export rundown data, traces and parameter sets; to provide backup/restore; and to perform software upgrades.
* Two COM ports – one for connecting a computer and enabling remote configuration, and one for adding a barcode reader, printer or other serial device.
