New Zealand-based pulp, paper and cardboard packaging manufacturer, Oji Fibre Solutions, has expanded its operations into Queensland.
The manufacturer has purchased a 24,126 square metre warehouse, plant and office building in Yatala, Queensland. Not yet complete, the company will move into the facility this September.
The new facility will expand Oji’s packaging business, according to general manager for Australia, Nick Molloy.
“The market has encouraged us to expand our manufacturing footprint and we look forward to offering customers more choice,” he said.
The new facility will produce a range of paper-based products for the horticulture, dairy, meat, beverage, seafood, reseller and industrial sectors in New Zealand and Australia, primarily based on cardboard made from sustainable wood fibre from New Zealand.
Up to 50 jobs will be created in Yatala, according to Oji.
