Pacific Brands will shed 50 jobs in its customer service division.
The company, which makes clothing, footwear and linen, will have its job cuts take effect in January 2014.
The customer service jobs will be outsourced to an unnamed international company, the ABC reports.
Pacific’s brands include Berlei, Clarks, Sheridan and Holeproof. It returned to profitability this year, announcing a net profit at its AGM of $73.8 million, up from a $450.7 million loss in 2012.
The meeting last month was also told that the workwear division – including brands such as Hard Yakka and King Gee – had suffered due to the mining downturn.
Pacific Brands listed on the ASX in 2004, and made a controversial decision in 2009 to outsource its manufacturing operations toAsia, cutting 1,850 jobs.
