One week until AIMEX begins

There is now less than a week until Australia’s largest mining exhibition starts.

Held at the Sydney Showground at the Sydney Olympic Park from September 6-9, the show brings together miners, manufacturers and everyone in between.

AIMEX 2011 will provide Australian manufacturers the chance to check-out opportunities in the mining and resources industry, particularly fabricators and machine shops.

"It will be unique gathering in a single location of mining products and services from around Australia and throughout the world – and will offer manufacturers, machine shops, fabricators and other local service providers some unique insights into mining industry opportunities,” Paul Baker, exhibition director with organiser Reed Mining Events said.

"We are strongly encouraging manufacturing sector companies looking to take advantage of this once-in-a-generation mining boom to come along to AIMEX in September, talk to suppliers of products and services, meet with mining industry end-users and take advantage of the many networking opportunities that an event like this offers," said Baker.

"With the mining industry suffering capacity constraints, and manufacturers concerned about their sector’s long-term future with a high Australian dollar, AIMEX 2011 is a perfect opportunity for local manufacturers and miners to get together and explore options and opportunities.

AIMEX is an internationally recognised platform for Australian and international suppliers of mining technology, equipment and services to conduct business face-to-face with a gathering of influential mining industry buyers and decision-makers unmatched by any other mining exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region.

AIMEX was last held in 2007; since then the mining industry has undergone dramatic changes, including two resource boom and a global recession.

"Since 2007, we have of course gone through the global financial crisis, which had a major impact across the board,” Baker said.

"Now, thanks to demand for our resources, Australia has largely escaped the worst of the GFC and is well placed to take advantage of the forthcoming boom in the mining industry, and unprecedented demand for our minerals and energy products – particularly in the developing world.”

AMEX’s four-year cycle will also means the latest technology, products and services across a range of industry sectors will be on show, from utomation and longwall mining equipment, to mine safety and underground mining machinery, to training and educational tools, to environmental management solutions, systems and products.

AIMEX 2011 exhibitors will include both Australian and international suppliers.

Major suppliers who will be exhibiting at AIMEX 2011 include ABB, Atlas Copco, Blackwoods, Bradken, Bucyrus, Cummins, Diversified Mining, Ellton Group, Esco, Hitachi, Hyundai, Industrea, Joy Mining Machinery, Letourneau, Ludowici, MTU, Nepean Group, Orica/Minova, P&H, Scania, SEW Eurodrive, Toshiba, Valley Longwall International and Weir Minerals.

AIMEX is part of the REEDMININGEVENTS structured portfolio of premium mining industry exhibitions owned and operated by Reed Exhibitions Australia.
