NMW 2011 gets ready to rock

With just hours remaining until the doors open on National Manufacturing Week 2011 on May 25, some 550 exhibitors are finalising their preparations for this year’s show.

NMW 2011, which takes up 5,000sq metres in exhibition stands alone, takes up most of the Melbourne Convention Centre and will be the largest ever production of the event.

Co-located with Austech and – for the first time – including the triennial Ausplas international plastics industry exhibition, NMW 2011 will be, more than ever, the event that brings the manufacturing industry together.

Companies including Henkel, Nord Drive Systems, Kemppi, BOC, Robotic Automation, Blackwoods, John Hart Automation, Coregas, Thermadyne and Lincoln Electric have taken landmark spaces at the event.

In addition, new features for NMW 2011 include:

10 Product Zones – exhibitors will be grouped in 10 colour-coded areas – including Electrical, Health & Safety, Welding, Information Technology and Engineering – to make it easy for buyers and sellers to find each other.

InnovateAustralia – a 372m2 feature focusing on actual commercial opportunities in emerging high-tech industries. Representatives from aerospace, defence, renewable technologies, automotive transport and medical sectors will attend, as well as outlining – via displays – the products and services they need.

NMW Conference – a two-day program featuring closed-door presentations and discussions, on themes around embracing innovation for a competitive, efficient and sustainable future.

Paul Baker comments, “Visitors to NMW 2011 will see the latest technologies, products and services available to help give manufacturers new ideas and answers to manufacturing challenges.“

“NMW attendees tell us that they come to the show to learn about what’s new in industry, and what additional resources are available to help them address existing and new markets. In addition, attendees also value the opportunity to network and meet new customers.

“Significant planning, resources and energy have gone in to making this year’s event the largest ever production of NMW. We’re also confident that, with more to see, more demonstrations and a high level Conference running alongside it, NMW will also be the best place for manufacturers to come together this year.”

Registration to NMW is free to trade visitors. Click here to register or register at the show entrance.
