A wide range of the latest manufacturing products, services and technologies from Australia and overseas will be showcased at this year’s National Manufacturing Week, which will be held next week from Tuesday May 27 to Friday May 30, at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
National Manufacturing Week 2008 covers all major aspects of the manufacturing sector in one fully integrated event, incorporating an exhibition, seminars and information sessions and related industry association forums and meetings.
According to John Gorton, Reed Exhibitions’ group director — industrial events, National Manufacturing Week makes it easy for Australia’s manufacturing industry decision-makers to source the latest solutions for their business.

NMW pavilions Pavilions within NMW give individual industry sectors unique opportunities to promote their products and services to specific visitor groups, while participating in an industry-wide exhibition.
The success of NMW over the years has been its ability to incorporate a large number of pavilions, and the 2008 edition of the exhibition will see this concept continuing to grow, with new pavilions at NMW 2008 to include: Electrix Austronics Both will be closely integrated with Automation & Robotics, a new pavilion introduced in 2006. Electrix: the definitive showcase for the electrical industry, this pavilion is endorsed by the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (AEEMA), and will feature a comprehensive range of high-tech products, services and technologies for the electrical sector.
Austronics: Australia’s premier electronics industry exhibition, this pavilion is endorsed and supported by peak industry associations including the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (AEEMA) and the Surface Mount and Circuit Board Association (SMCBA), and will showcase the very latest electronics solutions for the manufacturing sector.
Automation & Robotics: Complementing Electrix and Austronics, this pavilion has been the fastest-growing sector of NMW since being launched in 2006, with most of the major companies exhibiting again in 2008.
“With manufacturers looking to the latest technology for efficiency and quality — and to cope with skills shortages — many are increasingly considering automation and robotics to meet their requirements, and the demands of their customers,” said Gorton.
