SAFETY, Health and Environment Manager for Woolworths NSW, Mark Bernhardt, today announced his support of the SCLAA National Forklift Competition and advises that next year will be bigger and better within the various DC’s in NSW.

The national retailer has both male and female forklift operators in various distribution centres around Australia driving both counter balance and reach forklift trucks.

Currently over 60 people from three different DC’s have competed in in-house competitions to see who may be the top driver in Woolworths and hopefully Australia. The skill level of each participant was of a high standard.

There is often friendly rivalry between the various DC’s in NSW and the SCLAA National Forklift Competition will help to identify the best of class in forklift operation.

The national final will be held at the National Safety Show in Melbourne on 2nd April, 2009.
