A US manufacturing company is attempting to make a 13m surfboard and use it to break a Guinness world record.
AP reports that mouldCAM, a company from the state of Rhode Island, wants to break the Guinness world record for people riding a single board.
When the board is complete, the company will send it to Huntington Beach in California, where it will be used as part of a local tourism campaign,’ Visit Huntington Beach’.
The aim is to fit 62 people on the massive board. To break the record all 62 have to be up riding a wave for a full 10 seconds.
The current record stands at 47 and was set here in Australia (see accompanying photo and video). It happened at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast in 2005.
