Treasury Wine Estates has announced that it is acquired the remaining half of Rapaura Vintners Limited from Babich Wines Limited.

Rapaura is an integrated winery, warehouse and packaging operation in Marlboroough, in the northeast of New Zealand’s South Island. TWE – which owns labels including Wolf Blass and Penfolds and which split from Foster’s Group last year – will rename the facility Matua Marlborough, as well as increase the crush capacity from 15,000 tonnes to 23,000 tonnes in fiscal year 2013.

“This is a first class facility with a team of experienced staff and a proven track record for producing high quality wines," said Stuart McNab, TWE’s chief supply officer.
