Technology and innovation at the heart of Toowoomba’s energy and mining event

QMI Solutions will be running a lunch clinic on new technology and innovation in manufacturing at Southern Queensland’s largest energy and mining event.

The clinic will be held at the Surat Basin Energy & Mining Expo at the Toowoomba Showgrounds on Thursday 21 June 2012 from 10am to 12pm.

The lunch clinic will showcase new innovative technology and equipment from international and local markets to help manufacturers meet the challenges in the years ahead.

This workshop will give visitors the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in manufacturing technologies and offer them a chance to gain knowledge through practical examples.

The clinic will also discuss the importance of innovation in manufacturing and showcase some of the latest technology emerging from Europe such as explosive deburring, digital manufacturing and simple technology innovation.

As a key service provider to the mining and construction industries, manufacturing is uniquely placed to not only support, but also take advantage of the resources boom, explains QMI Solutions CEO Jim Walker.

“We are facing demanding times but the current resources boom provides many opportunities. The industry must focus on innovative manufacturing and use these new technologies to secure its future,” Mr Walker said.

“There are enormous opportunities in biotechnology, nanotechnology and “green skills” – these new sub-sectors are the future of manufacturing.”

Limited seats are available, for more information and to register, visit the QMI Solutions website or phone 07 3364 0621.
