A challenge often faced with automated work piece handling is the need for both stable and low speed rotation.

Engineers from SMC recognised this problem and answered it with the addition of two new rotary actuators — the CRQ2X and MSQX.

Designed as an addition to SMC´s range of rotary actuators, the unique shaft type CRQ2X, and the table type MSQX share many of the same features as SMC´s CRQ2 and MSQ rotary actuator ranges.

However, with the addition of special constructional elements such as special surface treatment, slow speed grease, and removal of the rubber cushion, these rotary actuators can be adjusted to provide stable, slow speed, lurch-free rotation capable of rotating as slow as five seconds to complete a 90º turn.

Currently both the CRQ2X and the MSQX can be ordered in various sizes with rotation angles up to 190° and torque outputs up to 10Nm depending on model.
