THE alpha-type rapid radial drilling machine from Donau offers high drilling capacity at a low price. It covers a vast range of workpieces, is very easy to handle, and is of robust construction.
It is cost effective to use the drill for one-offs as well as for small batches. The machine is particularly suited for workpieces where tolerances required are simple and not close.
Three feed speeds and two spindle speed ranges, each providing 18 spindle speeds, make the alpha an ideal drill for all standard applications.
The radial arm has 900mm travel and can be swivelled through 325°. The machine is open to take different supplementary tables.
The standard table has an area of 1200 x 600mm. There are two zones with T-slots on either side of the column, and there is space for a floor plate.
Overall, there are several cubic metres of useful cubage available. For repeat orders, jigs and fixtures can be left on the machine.
The standard 1200 x 600mm work table gives the operator many possibilities to complete quality work, due to the open design and accessibility of the machine as well as the mobility of the drill head.
Even components which are much bigger in size than the table (girders, etc.) can easily be machined by using suitable supports.
Supplementary tables can be fixed in the T-slots at the sides of the column. An angle table, a swivel table (±90°), a plate with vertical T-slots or intermediate plates are available.
The swivel table allows the drilling of holes at different angles without re-clamping the component.
The floor plate simplifies the machining of big components. No aligning or reclamping of the workpiece – just swivel and move the drill head to the required drilling position.
If there is need to vary the height of the supporting surface, an intermediate table (cube) will solve the problem.
Accessories include: drill protector (required by law); coolant equipment; angle table; swivel table; floor plate; and plate with vertical T-slots; clamping cube.
