Mainpac 2011 enterprise asset management solution has been selected by leading Australian port and bulk logistics company, POAGS, for deployment as a key element of its national asset management strategy.
POAGS plans to optimise the use of its growing bulk handling logistics, break-bulk and container handling assets throughout Australia with the deployment.
The Mainpac 2011 EAM software deployment will equip POAGS with business solutions that will achieve maximum financial and operational returns from the investments made across its 25 ports.
According to Mo Dowidar, POAGS National Engineering Manager, the company sought a system that would help streamline the management of a diverse fleet of operational assets from ship unloaders, conveyors and hoppers, large mining front end loaders and iron ore stockpile stackers to forklifts and other vehicles across multiple sites.
Ease of use and operational reporting were critical requirements in the solution due to the company’s extensive user base. Additionally, POAGS had aggressive deployment timeframes that demanded a vendor with deep industry experience who could initiate operations immediately.
As a key element of their national asset management strategy, the EAM solution also needed to capture, report and assist with the control and management of POAGS assets, and to optimise asset life cycle costs.
