Over a dozen dead from China explosives factory disaster

The death toll from an explosion at Poly Explosives in Caofan township, in China’s Zhangqiu City, has reached 13.

The cause of the blast at Poly, a maker of civilian explosive products, is currently unknown. 13 are dead and 19 are injured, according to the Global Times.

UPI cites a press statement from Zhanqiu’s government that the accident occurred in a workshop which had 34 workers in it at the time.

According to Agencia EFE the explosion took place at 10:45 am yesterday, local time.
