North Geelong factory still producing tinsel for Christmas

A North Geelong factory is one of the few in Australia still making tinsel, which ends up at supermarkets, petrol stations and other businesses around the country.

The Herald Sun reports that the Tinsel Werks plant produces decorative ropes by the kilometre, with the biggest single order for 240 kilometres.

According to its website, Tinsel Werks was established in 1990, and is part of the Glook Australia merchandising company, a trade-only supplier. Dating back to 1966, Glook also supplies items such as flags, costumes and bunting.
