Ausplas, Australia’s national trade exhibition for the plastics industry and the longest running plastics event in the southern hemisphere has permanently joined Australia’s manufacturing industry event, National Manufacturing Week (NMW).
Sydney based Reed Exhibitions has recently acquired Ausplas from Melbourne based Exhibition Management, the Plastic news reports.
The NMW event is organised by Reed and is held annually with alternating venues between Sydney and Melbourne.
Ausplas will participate every three years and the next edition of Ausplas will be held alongside NMW from 13-16 May 2014 at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.
This will be the first time that Ausplas will be staged in Sydney in 24 years – since 1990, the largest ever stand-alone edition of Ausplas.
The inclusion of Ausplas every third year will strengthen NMW’s position as Australia’s largest integrated manufacturing industry event.
NMW Exhibition Director Paul Baker said organisers received positive feedback in 2011 after Ausplas was first held alongside NMW.
“Trade visitors, especially those at senior management level, including plastics -Australia’s third largest manufacturing industry said the broader showcase of products and services enabled them to maximize the benefit of their attendance,” Baker stated.
Exhibition Management former owner and Ausplas founder John Kelly said Reed has a broad business reach, with strong ties to the mining industry, which would benefit Ausplas exhibitors seeking to broaden their customer base.
Last year’s combined event attracted more than 13,000 Australian and international visitors.
