New innovation precinct for Monash Uni

Monash University and the CSIRO will today sign a strategic relationship to bring about an innovation precinct.

The Australian Manufacturing and Materials Innovation Precinct will be located at Clayton, and will focus on sustainability, clean manufacturing and advanced materials.

“Both Monash and CSIRO have recognised the importance of developing expertise in areas such as materials science and engineering that are vital to developing innovative solutions in manufacturing,” said Ed Byrne, Monash’s Vice Chancellor.

Meanwhile, the CSIRO is also collaborating with Deakin University to create the Australian Future Fibres and Innovation Centre. The centre, under construction, will focus on turning Geelong into an international hub for advanced textiles.
