Project: Innovative Pie Making Machine Technology
WITH a history of continuous product development, Lindsay Piemaking Equipment, has extended it product development into the supply chain sourcing from contractors of advanced manufacturing equipment such as OEM of laser cutting systems.
Visits to industry shows in France and the UK during 2008 resulted in further product development enabling the company to incorporate a number of advanced technology elements on their machines including a newly developed liquid filling unit which extends the function of the machine from pies to savoury items such as quiche.
Other innovations include a precision depositing system and a driving cluster that ensures the accuracy of indexing for eight pie sizes and up to 107 different shapes that can be made on one machine.
Using these key elements across the range of the company’s pie making equipment has allowed the reduction of development costs and lower inventory costs achieved in volume purchases.
By using these advanced manufacturing innovations, Lindsay has experienced significant productivity improvements, increased quality and reduced costs.
