Krauss Maffei of Munich, Germany, has celebrated the 30th anniversary of their Automation AG subsidiary operation, founded in 1982, as well as the supply of 1000th robot from its manufacturing facilities in Schwerin.
The company’s open day to celebrate the two milestones was attended by over 1000 visitors. The event included exhibits of linear and industrial robots.
Thomas Marufke, Krauss Maffei Automation AG sales and commercial manager said the company’s strategy had been conclusively confirmed by the fact that they had increased their workforce and production area significantly over the past three decades.
The most recent expansion was the doubling of the production assembly area to around 1,700m² in the Schwaig plant.
The 1000th robot supplied was a LRX-S 350 Linear robot (the type pictured alongside) that had a payload of 35kg that will be used on a CX 350-3000 Injection Moulding machine for a customer in the USA.
The LRX – LRX-S series of robots are used for pick and place applications and more complex technologies such as insert moulding technologies with metal parts such as contacts, rings, bushings and plugs.
The series also includes complete solutions for de-moulding injection moulded parts and for separating, sorting and packing product units.
Krauss Maffei focuses on the development and manufacture of linear and industrial robots which aim to simplify and speed up the production process in the plastics mechanical engineering sector. The company is represented in Oceania by HBM Plastics Technologies.
