Japan manufacturing returns to growth

Japan’s
manufacturing sector has registered growth for the first time in three months,
according to the Markit/JMMA flash Japan PMI.

Reuters reports that the flash result of 51.1 for June was up from May’s 49.9.

A
score of 50 is the line separating expansion from contraction, with a number
above it indicating growth.

The
information was compiled between June 12 and 19.

There
was a significant bounce in new orders, up 52.0 from 49.6.

“… [I]t looks like the Japanese manufacturing sector has taken a positive upward
trajectory,” said Amy Brownbill from Markit.
