Industrial unit fire destroys two businesses in Osborne Park

Two businesses were destroyed in Osborne Park, north of Perth's CBD, after a fire last Friday night, which took an hour and 50 fire crews to be brought under control.

Perth Now reports that witnesses heard several large explosions before the blaze started at an industrial unit. The flames reached five metres in height, according to the West Australian.

One of the businesses destroyed was an unnamed timber flooring company, with 10 tonnes of treated pine fuelling the fire. A third unit was damaged.

Asbestos was believed to be present in the roof of the building, creating safety concerns among firefighters.
