A five tonne bitumen tank has split inside an Auckland factory today.
The tank broke earlier this morning and split hot bitumen has spread throughout the building and is flowing outside the building, according to Stuff.co.nz.
The bitumen is believed to be around 140 degrees, and spread approximately 15 metres by 25 metres, and about 10 metres squared.
Thermkraft Industries, where the spill occurred, specialises in roof underlays and building materials.
It is unknown whether any people have been injured in the incident.
