Glass that bends the rules of manufacturing

Researchers in the United States will this year release a new type of glass, known as Willow, which is as thin as a sheet of paper and bends and warps under pressure.

Glass manufacturer Corning is behind the breakthrough, which could form the basis of much thinner gadgets and completely new products, such as displays that fit the curve of your wrist.

But while Corning blazed a new trail in developing Willow, the real breakthrough came in figuring out how to mass-produce the new product.
