Ford opens 3D printed car store

Ford Motor Company has launched a store where customers can order 3D printed versions of vehicles or STL files from which they can make their own.

3Dprint.com reports that Ford’s digital shop, 3d.ford.com, currently offers over 1,000 models. The printed versions (scale of 1:32) are priced at $US 39 for single-colour PLA. Files are $US 4.99.

“At Ford, we’re using 3D printing every day to rapidly prototype parts, and now we want to share that fun with our fans,” said Mark Bentley, licensing manager of Ford Global Brand Licensing.
