A factory fire at the weekend in the Newcastle, NSW suburb of Lambton is being treated as suspicious by police.
The Newcastle Herald reports that the Air View Aluminium factory fire began at about 11:50 am, and was extinguished by 20 firemen in an hour and a half. They avoided more serious damage at the site by removing a forklift with an LPG cylinder and several drums of ethanol.
“That shed was pretty much for storage, fabrication and glass cutting,” co-owner Tony Drinnan told the Herald.
“There was a great loss of machinery and a loss of projects that were ready to go out. But we’ll be able to keep our heads above water.”
