HONEYWELL, in collaboration with SKF, has introduced OneWireless equipment health monitoring (EHM), the latest addition to Honeywell’s portfolio of industrial wireless solutions.
OneWireless EHM will wirelessly transmit complete spectral information — including vibration amplitude and operating parameter information — from the field to the plant control room, helping reduce equipment failures and improve business performance through lower maintenance costs.
OneWireless EHM is a compact, eight-channel (4X vibration, 4X 4-20mA) monitoring device that communicates over Honeywell’s OneWireless industrial mesh network.
It collects acceleration, velocity, temperature, and bearing condition data and delivers it to process operators and maintenance personnel to alert them of any equipment problems.
The device is a cost-effective and efficient alternative to the manual inspections that many industrial facilities employ to monitor the health of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, and motors.
OneWireless EHM includes everything necessary to capture and analyse equipment health information, including data acquisition equipment, database management software, and installation services.
The EHM software can deduce probable bearing defects, misalignment, pump cavitations, and impeller wear.
The software can then translate the data into alarms that can be configured to appear in the plant’s distributed control system (DCS) and Honeywell’s asset management platform.
In addition to stand-alone OneWireless EHM components, Honeywell is currently offering OneWireless EHM starter kits, which contain everything necessary to wirelessly monitor between four and eight plant assets, depending on individual facility needs.
