According to the administrator involved, a deal on pay reductions for Arrium workers could come as soon as this afternoon.
AAP reports a spokesperson for KordaMentha as saying the decision is expected soon, if things run to schedule, following negotiations between the firm and the Australian Workers Union.
Last month it was reported that KordaMentha was seeking pay reductions of 15 and then 12 per cent over three years, with a counter-offer from the union of a 7.5 per cent pay cut, with restrictions on overtime.
Prior to this, the administrator said it had identified $300 million in savings at the Whyalla steelworks.
The steel and iron ore company went into administration in April.
