Australian defence contractor David Brown Santasalo has thrown its weight behind BAE Systems’ bid for the SEA 5000 Future Frigate Program.
As a longstanding defence industry gearing supplier, and manufacturer of main propulsion gearboxes for the Global Combat Ship, David Brown Santasalo is a leader in mechanical power transmissions for assurance critical applications in the mining, power generation, oil and gas, land and naval defence industries.
“Localisation is at the core of both our business and our participation in the SEA 5000 Future Frigate program,” said Dean Leydecker, David Brown Santasalo’s managing director for Australia.
“We are delighted to be working with BAE Systems to provide a solution that not only provides a state of the art anti-submarine warfare (ASW) vessel for the Commonwealth of Australia, but also benefits the Australian economy and provides work for local people and businesses.”
The Commonwealth of Australia’s SEA 5000 Future Frigate Program seeks to establish the in-country industrial capability necessary to support the build, operation and sustainability of the Future Frigates.
David Brown Santasalo has set out a core business strategy focused on delivering local gear engineering, service and support.
