A Deakin University academic is visiting India this month for a series of events aimed at increasing cooperation in high-technology manufacturing.
Economic Times reports that Professor Peter Hodgson, Interim Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research, at Deakin, will be in India from May 30 to June 17. The visit takes place under the Australia India Education Council’s (AIEC) Eminent Researcher Lecture Program, chaired by the two countries’ education ministers.
“As the Indian government and industry implement Prime Minister Modi’s Make in India campaign, the need for a globally competitive manufacturing and research and development sector is greater than ever,” said Harinder Sidhu, Australia’s High Commissioner to India.
Hodgson will present on advanced manufacturing trends and university-industry collaborations at Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore, including an address at Businayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah College of Engineering for the International Conference on Advanced Materials and Applications.
