Australian-born Dow Chemical boss inducted into IndustryWeek Hall Of Fame

Darwin-born Andrew Liveris, global chair and CEO of the Dow
Chemical Company, has been inducted into the IndustryWeek manufacturing hall of fame.

Liveris has been CEO of Dow since 2004 and chairman since
2006, and has guided the company to focus more on specialised products than
basic chemicals, notes IndustryWeek.

The business leader is a passionate advocate for the
industry in his country, authoring Make It In America in 2011 and serving as
co-chair on President Barack Obama’s Advanced Manufacturing Partnership
Steering Committee.

Liveris returns to Australia regularly, often making
headlines with his comments, particularly in regards to energy security and innovation policy.

He was named an officer of the Order of Australia in January
this year.
