Ardagh Group (formerly Impress Group) has produced Australia’s first aluminum beverage bottle at its Taree factory in New South Wales.
The move sees the company which supplies of steel and aluminum aerosol cans to Australia and NZ market extend its aluminum portfolio from aerosol cans to aluminum bottles.
The decision will see the company capitalise on what it considers to be a growing niche sector for the beverage market in Australian and NZ due to tighter restrictions placed on the use of glass bottles in public place.
The bottles will initially be available in sizes from 330 to 355ml have been manufactured for the beer, ready-to-drink and energy drink markets.
