Apple is getting ready to unveil details of its Apple Watch,
as several smartphone makers unveil their latest offerings.
A person with knowledge of the matter told the AFR that Apple
plans to reveal details of Apple Watch at an event in San Francisco on March 9.
To date, the company has not revealed much information about
the new product. However, we do know that it will work in conjunction with the iPhone.
It will be available in three styles, will have a rectangular touch-screen face
and will be able to detect the pulse rate of the wearer.
As AFP reports, several other smartphone makers, attempting
to challenge the newly resurgent Apple, are releasing their own new devices in
the lead up to the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona.
According to the Guardian, 2000 exhibitors and more than
86,000 visitors are expected at the event which is billed as the world’s
biggest telecoms trade fair.
Samsung has already unveiled
two new phones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge which can be used instead of
credit cards to make transactions. Both also feature wireless chargers and
LG has also unveiled the LG Flex 2 which has a curved back.
The company has also released two internet-connected watches
And HTC has unveiled its luxury One M9 smartphone which
features 3GB of RAM, a dual-tone metallic finish, Qualcomm QCOM +0.69%’s
Snapdragon 810 processor, 32Gb of onboard storage, 20MP rear camera and an 8
UltraPixel front facing camera a bigger 2840mAh
