Amcor acquires US manufacturer Enron

Global packaging giant Amcor has acquired Ohio-based manufacturer Enron for $US55m ($76m).

AAP reports that Amcor will bring Enron, which serves the food and beverage and household sectors, into its rigid plastics business.

The move follows acquisitions the company has made in South Africa, Brazil, China and India over the past twelve months, as well as new greenfield plants it has planned in the Philippines and Indonesia.

As reported in the Business Spectator, Amcor managing director Ron Delia said the acquisition will deliver operating synergies as well as good returns for shareholders.
