Automotive Holdings Group will be the major sponsor of the Melbourne Football Club AFL team for the next three years.
In a deal announced yesterday and to be, according to AHG, funded through the ASX-listed group’s existing marketing budget, AHG’s logo will be displayed on the front and back of the team’s guernsies, and on all playing, training and retail apparel.
“AHG is a major ASX 200 company, which means it’s a public listed company in the top 200 of the Stock Exchange. That’s very substantial in terms of the Melbourne Football Club and we’re delighted that a company of their stature and brand would join the Melbourne Football Club,” said Melbourne FC’s CEO Peter Jackson.
“They’re the largest automotive retailing company in Australia, with over 5,700 employees and 152 car and truck dealerships across Australia.
AHG’s managing director Bronte Howson said that the deal, which would run through the 2014, 2015 and 2016 seasons, was mutually beneficial.
“The partnership gives AHG strong brand exposure across Australia and strongly supports our position as Australia’s largest motoring group,” said Howson.
As well as its automotive retail operations, AHG also operates nation-wide logistics business.
