85% subsidised training to up-skill QLD workers

The Productivity Places Program (PPP) is a joint Commonwealth and Queensland Government initiative, which provides existing workers with new skills and qualifications to increase skills, output and enhance career development.

As a broker of PPP training, Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ), a division of QMI Solutions, is offering an 85% subsidy for training in the following qualifications:

Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety
This qualification is for those who wish to pursue a career in OH&S. Ideal for those responsible for OH&S in their workplace and those who wish to become WorkCover acceptable trainers and assessors, human resource (HR) practitioners, safety officers or OH&S officers.
MSQ contribution: $1700

Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety
For those coordinating OH&S programs and possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate those with safety responsibilities.
MSQ contribution: $2677

Diploma in Project Management
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team.
MSQ contribution: $2864

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
This qualification is ideal for those who want to become a skilled trainer and assessor in the workplace or within the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Achievement of this qualification or an equivalent by trainers and assessors is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration.
MSQ contribution: $1530

 Certificate III in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage)
This qualification is applicable for a role in general warehouse duties such as housekeeping, receipting, stock locating, stock maintenance, stock replenishment, forklift operation, order picking, packaging, stocktaking and reconciliation and order checking and dispatch.
MSQ contribution: $2550

Results of Productivity Places Program (PPP) include: higher competency, better productivity and a more engaged workforce.

Staff retention is a particular benefit with 87% of participants stating the training would assist in further developing careers within the organization, according to QMI Solutions.
